Board Advisor
Hong Wang, Hollywood Composer and Chinese wind instruments soloist who also serves as Special Researcher for China Conservatory of Music’s Oriental Music Research Institute. Wong is passionate about promoting new music from Asian American composers and finds unique ways to connect different genres of music together. Wang has worked with many film composers for documentaries, movies and TV. Such as recording for DreamWorks’ “Kungfu Panda Legends of Awesomeness episodes” and “Legend of Korra” episodes. (Composers: Jeremy Zuckerman/Benjamin Wynn) etc.
As an experimented multi-instrumentalist and erhu soloist, Wang performed “Erhu & Violin Double Concerto” (music by Gang Situ) with the Stanford Symphony; played sheng/bawu/recorder/suona/erhu for Tan Dun’s world premiere “2000 Today” with Shanghai Broadcasting Orchestra; world premiere “Concerto for Erhu and Orchestra” (music by Albert Chang) with Fremont Symphony; played matouqin (morin khuur) for world premiere “Xuan” (music by Huang Ruo) and Guanzi, dizi, xun for “Yuan” (music by Keeyong Chong) with the Ensemble Het Collectie (Belgium); played the bawu and xiao for Zhao Jiping’s Germany premiere “My Favourite Concubine” with Berlin Philharmonic; Zhonghu/sheng and suona with the Anthony Brown’s Asia American Orchestra (Jazz); In 2010, played the dizi and xun with the Opera Boston for 2011 Pulitzer Music Winner Zhou Long’s World Premiere “Madame White Snake”. He has performed in concert halls including Scottsdale Arts Center, Kerr Art Center, Katzin Concert Hall, Cleveland Mixon Concert Hall, Kulas Concert Hall, St. Petersburg Sheremetiev Palace Concert Hall, Zhoushan Putuo Grand Theater, Zhengzhou Grand Theater, Chongqing Fuling Grand Theater, Suzhou Yinshan Lake Grand Theater, Rizhao Grand Theater Theater, Yantai Jiaodong Grand Theater, Jiaxing Xiuhu Concert Hall, Xiamen Gulangyu Concert Hall, Nanjing Steinway Concert Hall, Xuzhou Concert Hall and other city landmark concert halls. Shenhua Hu
Shenhua Hu is a well-known violinist with over seventeen years experience from many professional orchestras, solo performances, chamber music and the teaching field both in China and US. He served as the concertmaster in Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra for eight years, which is one of the leading orchestra in China. In addition, He was the former Assistant Concertmaster in Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra and the Guest Concertmaster in Irvine Symphony Orchestra and Dana Point Symphony Orchestra. In the roles of the soloist and concertmaster, He has collaborated with many celebrated conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Leif Segerstam, Christian Ehwald, soloists and composers like Lang Lang, José Carreras, Dun Tan and others.
Mr. Hu won the first place in the fourth Hong Kong International Music Festival Violin Competition. He was awarded the first prize in the California Association of Professional Music Teacher Concerto Competition. He also won the first prize of the fall performance contest in San Diego, and was the winner of the International Artist Award competition and the American Protege International Music Talent Competition.
Mr. Hu made significant contribution to the film industry as well. He recorded the soundtrack for “The Chef’s Table”, which is the nomination and the best music composition of Emmy. He also recorded the music for “Naresuen Reel”, which is the largest film production in Thailand.
Born in China, He started to study violin at age of four, and won the first prize of Youth Violin Competition of Shandong Province. He received his Bachelor degree from Central Conservatory of Music, which is the top music school in China. He continued his study with the full scholarship from the studio of Prof. Suli Xue in University of Southern California and received his graduate certificate in 2014. In 2022, he obtained the full scholarship and received his master degree of violin performance in Azusa Pacific University.

Elizabeth, Musician, music investor, HRM program academic mentor. She is also the partner of Enya Smart Instruments in California region. Elizabeth holds multiple degrees in music field such as master degree of music therapy at st. Houston, music business at Berklee College of Music, music education from China. Elizabeth Has twice won the gold award of "China, Japan and South Korea" International Instrumental Music Competition (2011 Korea station, 2012 Japan station),She also invited as a special guest of "Hanmo Yinyuan" on CCTV 3Performed at various international music festivals and individual concerts such as the 70th Anniversary of the Anti-Japanese War held at Minute Maid Stadium in Houston, the Houston Embrace Spring Gala, the Houston Consulate General performanceHas participated in the research and development of many intelligent instruments and obtained many music patents. The Japanese-born soprano Yuri , graduated from Manhattan school of music.Yuri has sung on many of the world’s most prominent stages, like Carnegie Hall in New York. She has performed at Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, Theatre du Capitole in Toulouse, and Suntory Hall in Tokyo.
Ke An
Ke An, HRM Piano Instructor, DMA. Ke is currently the TA at the University of Utah, she has played chamber and solo recitals in both America and China, which include performances at University of Utah, Utah International Music Academy & Helen Taylor Johannsen International Piano Competition, Summer Arts Competition and so on.As an active participant, Ke has taken part in many competitions and won prizes such as the bronze medalist in the Utah International Music Academy & Helen Taylor Johannsen International Piano Competition in 2017. The Third prize in the Division of Youth group in Jiangsu Province in the United States Open Music Competition (China Division) in 2014.6. The Second prize in the 20th/21st century Division in Jiangsu Province in 2014. 6. The third prize in the division of Russian music in the Eighth Zhongsin International Music Competition Music Competition in Singapore in 2014.1. The first prize in the college division in the Eighth Zhongsin International Music Competition Music Competition in Singapore in 2014.1. Besides piano, Ke is taking the harpsichord performance as her secondary major. Ke has years of teaching experiences and she developed her own teaching pedagogy. Has won the bronze award of Professional Youth Group in the first Beijing Invitational Competition of Ruan in 2010, the gold medal of the 4th Beijing Youth Art Festival for Solo of Ethnic Instrumental Music. Has solo performance on the first "Irish Theme Day" in China .Participant in the opening ceremony concert of the Fourth Special Olympic Games of the People's Republic of China.

Yuan Yang HRM Piano Instructor Head of Collaborative Piano
Yuan Yang, HRM piano instructor , director of the Department of Collaborative Piano performance. Mrs Yang graduated from Shanghai Conservatory majored in Music Music Education with primary instrument of piano. With 20 years of teaching experience , her students have won awards in major competitions in a China and US. Mrs yang is very active on stage , she participated in the performances (chamber music) of various universities in Xi 'an with Ren Tian and Hao Changjiang, violin professor of the West Sound Orchestra Department. She played Beethoven's fifth piano concerto "the emperor" with Shanxi philharmonic orchestra in 2007.Strict with herself in teaching, she has a strict grasp of basic skills. Mrs Yang is good at discovering and developing students' potential, finding out their interest points, and choosing works in line with students' style. She has developed a unique teaching pedagogy in the field of four- hands piano, allowing many students to play with a new style.
Martina
Head of Accordion performance
Classical accordionist Martina Li hails from the western plateau in China and began her accordion career at 7 years old as a witness of China’s “accordion craze” in the 1990s. She studied under Dingcheng Zhang and won the gold medal for solo accordion performance at China's 2002 National Competition for Young Art Talents. After moving to the United States in 2008, Li obtained PhD in ethnomusicology from the University of Texas at Austin and taught music history at Sam Houston State University during 2018-2022. A professional member of American Accordionists' Association, Li has been invited for classical accordion performances to national and international events such as San Antonio International Accordion Festival, the annual masterclass concert series of American Accordionists' Association, and National Accordion Convention. Li performed with Houston-based chamber group Aperio, and participated in world music projects in Austin including Forro de Quintal (2015), Daniele Ruiz Tango Trio (2012), and Austin Piazzolla Quintet (2010). Li currently serves as the advisor for Houston-based accordion nonprofit Innovative Accordion Music Production, which hosts the annual Houston Accordion Orchestra in January.

Before joined HRM, Xian held teaching positions at the Music Department of Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College and the Music and Dance School of Jilin University (Zhuhai Branch). As a university faculty, she taught a wide range of music courses and has guided many piano students who play chamber music. She has nearly ten years of piano teaching experience, focusing on teaching practical grade piano exams, music theory and solfeggio (ear-training). Many of her students have been admitted into world-renowned music schools and colleges in Europe, United States and Canada with excellent results.
Xian graduated from Kent State University with a master's degree in musicology in 2014. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the music school of Nanjing University of the Arts and ranked first in her major. In addition, She also participated in the national SEM academic conference and published several papers in the United States for three consecutive years. she can speak three languages, including English, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese and is good at tri-language teaching.

Masahito Sugihara
Masahito Sugihara is assistant professor of saxophone at Sam Houston State University. He earned the Doctor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Northwestern University as a student of Dr. Frederick L. Hemke. Mas has appeared as recitalist and clinician in Brazil, Canada, England, France, Luxembourg, Norway, Japan, Scotland, and United States. He is a member of Awea Duo and Amethyst Saxophone Quartet, and has performed in the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Chicago Chamber Musicians, Chicago Lyric Opera, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Dal Niente, Grant Park Orchestra, Houston Ballet, Houston Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Network for New Music, New York City Ballet, and Reading Symphony. As an avid arranger, Mas has transcribed a wide range of compositions for flute/sax duo, sax duo, reed quartet, saxophone quartet, and larger saxophone ensembles.
Previously, he was the assistant professor of saxophone at Morehead State University and has taught saxophone and chamber music in the Chicago area at Northwestern University, Roosevelt University and Trinity Christian College.
